The future is coming into focus quickly and I hope you’re paying attention. We are going to have two types of employees:
- An AI-assisted workforce. Digital cyborgs.
- And a fully digital workforce.
AI-Assisted Workforce
Claude Cowork was the first tool that showed how the assisted model works. It targets that first category.
It is incredibly useful for processing tasks, gathering insights, and accelerating your work.
You will not be able to compete with the assisted workforce unless you learn to adopt these tools. It would be like me competing with Ken Jennings on Jeopardy. But an order of magnitude harder.
These tools make you superhuman. You complete tasks faster. You produce better insights. Almost all developers saw this with Claude Opus 4.5 and adjusted to working in an assisted mode. That shift is now moving quickly into other fields.
Fully Digital Workforce
But the other type of employee is the fully digital workforce.
This is why OpenClaw is gaining attention. It is extremely difficult for companies to develop something like this because of security concerns. The workable approach is to treat digital agents as employees.
Microsoft announced Copilot Tasks. Perplexity announced Computer. Everyone is hyper-focused on this right now.
But OpenClaw is different.
The ability for OpenClaw to run your entire real computer makes it a different product. They’re releasing at an accelerated pace — several times per week — with heavy investment in security. Secrets management. Security hardening.
Nothing is effectively copying that so far. So ignore all the videos that say “X is the next OpenClaw killer.” Those people are just going for clicks.
I’ve put together five different bots and they help me daily.
Humans Are Still Essential
I can’t see this fully replacing humans. These tools, by definition, need to be steered. Giving everyone spreadsheets didn’t make everyone billionaires — but it did make them better at business analysis. The same with calculators, computers, and every other technological development.
I know there are people who are smarter than me with access to even later tools and models. But some of what they’re saying doesn’t make logical sense.
Let me know what you think.
