Why we still need Humans

I finally figured out why we’re still going to need humans in the loop…and I think you’ll agree.

I made this animation as a copy of a viral video I can’t get enough of. Cats diving in the olympics.

I tried to give it some flair by re-creating it on Midjourney with a bit more visual flair…it’s not even close…but that’s part of my point.

It took me 25 prompts/generations with 100 options and I think it’s mostly ok. But it’s not as good as the original.

But the person who did the cat video had the better idea that became viral because of quality and taste. The AIs are perfectly capable of generating everything to infinity.

But figuring out a great viral idea is something only humans can do. Even with the maximum amount of context, the best the AIs could do is brute force answers until one of them become popular.

There’s other excellent examples to look at: This dentist ad in LA got more than 500k views in three days and jammed his bookings (a bit NSFW for language)

Yeah, it’s not the capabilities of the tools, it’s the creativity, dedication and concepts that make something great. The tools can build things for you and even brainstorm options, but they can’t duplicate humanity’s capacity to understand what makes something great…just good enough.

What do you think?
